Mission
The Community Outreach Department at the FWMoA works to broaden the Museum’s programs beyond the borders of Allen County. Outreach services are mainly offered to non-profit art organizations, artist groups, libraries, schools, locally owned businesses, and under-served art audiences. The programs that we offer are free of charge to these communities and consist of educational art lectures, career development lectures, portfolio critiques, art show judging, private consultations (on a case by case basis), and, soon to come, traveling exhibitions. By offering our services, we aim to ensure that art is available to increasingly larger audiences, support is provided to the art curriculum in the K-12 schools, and assistance is available to contemporary regional artists and art organizations in this troubled economy. Hopefully by doing so, we will build ongoing partnerships and collaborations between many communities and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art.
