Welcome Message

For over 85 years, the Fort Wayne Museum of Art has been a vibrant and vital contributor to the cultural life of this region.
The Museum is committed to presenting aesthetically significant exhibitions and educational programs that will attract the interest of – and which have meaning for – the many diverse audiences we serve.

Our core values rest in our belief that art is a meaningful part of all people’s lives and that inclusiveness, education, dialogue, and sound stewardship of our resources are elemental to our operating philosophy.

Our goals include continually expanding the public’s understanding and appreciation of American visual Art, developing our infrastructure to be better support our mission, and becoming the energetic nucleus of the visual arts community.

We are currently in the midst of an extensive expansion/renovation project which, when completed, will dramatically increase our capability to present even more exhibitions, as well as to offer the community a public art library, a children’s learning center, an expanded roster of onsite programming, and a broader menu of outreach programs designed to deliver an array of art experiences to the doorsteps of people living in smaller communities throughout Northern Indiana.

I encourage you to explore our new website and get to know us…please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!
Mark your calendars – the Fort Wayne Museum of Art will reopen to the public on March 27, 2010!
