In 1935, yet another means of cultural documentation was introduced under President Roosevelt’s New Deal and fostered by the Farm Securities Administration through 1944. Many of the Depression era’s most famous photographers first cultivated their skills through the photographic witnessing of middle-America’s devastated farming families.
